Richard Morin - An American Artist
Richard Morin is an award winning artist who was born and raised in scenic New Hampshire. Richard received art training and education early in his life, throughout his grade and high school years. This training in private classes with classically trained artists at the then Manchester Institute of Arts and Sciences. He enlisted in the mid 1960's in the Armed Services, married and with his wife started a family and raising two daughters. His art endeavors were put on hold as the responsibilities of life dictated work in the high-tech industries as a designer/draftsman.
His artistic career was re-energized after his children had received their college degrees and were on their own paths in life. Richard started taking art workshops and instruction in several disciplines. After taking a Monotype workshop his love of art was back and he wanted to make it his main occupation. Attending outdoor art fairs throughout the area he came to the conclusion "Hey, I can do this! ". He started displaying his work and found a following that was willing to plunk down some hard earned money for his work.
Since 1990, his re-emergence into the world of painting and printmaking, he has dedicated himself to his visions as an artist, and has created a following which appreciated his unique and colorful work. " I strive to create work that engages the viewer and elicit an emotional response".
Richard is an artist member of:
N.H. Art Association
Newburyport MA. Art Association
Monotype Guild of New England
He and his wife Denise live in New Hampshire where he maintains his studio at his home. He continues to exhibit his work at art festivals throughout New England and is represented at galleries listed in the web site.
